MHM Current Position

MHM is the UK's second largest producer of tungsten carbide, currently producing around 100 tonnes yearly.
MHM's current investment plan will enable us to double our output starting early 2007 to 200 tonnes yearly.
MHM has been producing tungsten carbide for almost 70 years.

MHM Core Market Sectors

MHM has been supplying leading oilfield companies for more than 20 years and our largest customers are market leaders in oilfield drill bit technology. As a partner supplier to these companies, we understand the need for compliance to designated procedures and paperwork.
85% of MHM production is destined for the oilfield and rock drilling markets in general.
MHM also understands the need for supply chain management to deal with the peaks and troughs in demand.
MHM represents a European supply base for multinational companies who need to supply to politically sensitive areas of the world.

MHM Company History

1940-1986	Sheffield UK based carbide division of Firth Brown Tools Ltd.
1986-1996	Acquired by Marshalls PLC and merged with their own carbide company Higher Speed Metals ltd to form Marshalls Hard Metals Ltd.(MHM)
1996-2003	Part of Halco Group Ltd, major manufacturers of rock drilling tools.
2003-Present	Stand alone privately owned company with heavy investment plan for sustained future growth.

MHM Ownership

MHM is a privately owned company with financial support from Barclays Bank. MHM is a sound profitable company with a planned long term goal of expansion through investment.

MHM Workforce

MHM has a workforce of 65 employees, many of which are skilled craftsmen in carbide engineering with more than 30 years experience.
