Marshalls Carbide Ltd takes delivery of a fully automated 30 ton Dorst Press

Marshalls Carbide Ltd is pleased to announce that we have taken delivery of a new 30 ton Dorst press to further enhance the quality of products we produce and to increase the manufacturing capacity within the factory.

The press is fully automated and utilises an integral Robot and pallet unloading to allow for un-manned operation.

In-line monitoring and self adjusting parameters ensure the quality and integrity of the inserts produced

With fast set up / change over procedures and significantly improved loading / unloading of raw materials and finished parts we are seeing a 75% improvement in productivity.

With opportunities of quadruple pressing and the ability to cover a full range of insert sizes (8mm - 25mm) this machine allows us to press ever more complex shapes and designs required within the industry

The introduction of this machine is the first step of a substantial CAPEX investment program that has been implemented following the acquisition of MHM by Mincon Group PLC

Marshall Hard Metals acquired by Mincon Group plc creating Marshalls Carbide Ltd a wholly owned subsidiary of the Mincon Group plc.

On March 27th 2015 the business and assets of Marshall Hard Metals were acquired by Mincon Group plc. The new Company name will be Marshalls Carbide Ltd and is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Mincon Group plc.

The sale supports the long term future of the Marshalls business and its ability to supply and support all new and existing customers.

It is tremendous news for the Marshalls Carbide business and its customers and it gives the Company a real opportunity to grow and consolidate its global carbide sales working alongside Mincons extensive global distribution channels.

MHM Christmas Childrens Charity

Marshalls Hard Metals is proud to announce that following donations received from our dedicated workforce that this year we will be donating various gifts and toys to Manor & Castle Development Trust Ltd.

Following a formal presentation, a buffet lunch was held for the staff and workforce of MHM and representatives of the nominated local Children's Centre.

The quantity and quality of the gifts provided is testament to the generosity of all MHM employees.

MHM has now been providing Christmas gifts to various Children's Centres in the Sheffield area for over 40 years and is dedicated to continuing this in the future.

Marshalls Hard Metals commissions Laser Etching Machine

The monitoring of individual components within the oilfield industry is vital to drilling companies to ensure they have full control over their entire inventory. It is paramount that the information provide on each product is capable of withstanding the extreme environments that the components operate in. MHM, through the introduction of a new Laser Etching machine is now well placed to meet this requirement. The introduction of this technology has assisted MHM in receiving a substantial order from a European Oilfield manufacturing company.

MHM enters new markets

MHM are pleased to report that we have recently received our first substantial order from a major Far Eastern oilfield company. This is the result of many months of discussions, visits and trials. The quality and reliability of the product supplied was paramount to the successful conclusion of this project. MHM is now actively targeting new challenging markets and developing new long term business partnerships

3rd Sinter Hip Furnace

The introduction and commissioning of a 3rd Sinter Hip Furnace significantly enhances the heat treatment capacity of the MHM business. With continued development in existing markets and anticipated growth in new market sectors the new Sinter Hip Furnace is paramount to MHMs aggressive strategy of continued investment throughout the business

Die Sinking & Wire Erosion Machines

2010 - 2011
As a result of the ever increasing and complex range of tooling and products required within the tungsten carbide industry, MHM has invested in the latest wire erosion and die sinking technology. This significant investment enables MHM to produce and maintain its tooling requirements in house with an ability to rapidly respond to tool breakages and development requests.

3 off Hydraulic CNC Presses

MHM has recently commissioned 3 new hydraulic CNC presses to increase current capacity with the added benefits of enhancing the product integrity which current technology provides.
